The cooler weather is starting to set in here in Kansas City and the seasonal spirit is taking over. Besides taking the most glorious crisp walks and watching football, there is so much to do in KC this time of year. It’s as if fall sparks new life into our hometown.

If you’re looking to do something fun with friends or with the kiddos, there are plenty of fall festivities for everyone to enjoy! Here are some that I would highly recommend taking advantage of before this glorious season ends. They all make amazing day trips.
Weston, Missouri Apple Orchards
Head into downtown Weston and make sure to stop into one of many antique shops filled with one-of-a-kind gems.
You can also make a pitstop at the Holladay Distillery and take a tour of their facility and taste their Missouri-Made vodkas.
Louisburg Cider Mill
From apples to pumpkins, Louisburg Cider Mill has a lot to offer. Taste their freshly made apple cider, and make sure to grab an apple cider donut to go with. You might end up buying more to save for later . . . or maybe that’s just me.
They also have a great pick-your-own pumpkin patch, filled with lots of fun activities for kids. There are hay rides, farm animals to feed and pet, and plenty of family-fun picture ops.
Somerset Ridge Vineyard-Winery
They also usually have live music on the weekends, which just makes the ambiance that much more enjoyable. Sitting next to the vineyard on a sunny fall day with friends is perfection. Pets and kids are also welcome . . . they just can’t drink the wine.
Let me know how your experiences are at these locations, and if you found another great fall activity I didn’t mention. I’m always looking to expand my fall bucket list!
